Vijayawada Municipal Corporation to Improve Land Tax Collection
The city of Vijayawada wants to collect more money from people who own empty land.
They are calling this the Vacant Land Tax (VLT).
Last year, the city wanted 237 crore rupees, but only received 19 crore.
To fix this, the city is forming a special team.
This team will work with other departments to find the landowners and send them bills.
The city will make a list of those who have not paid and might even take them to court if they don't pay.
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is focusing on improving Vacant Land Tax (VLT) collection.
VMC collected only Rs 19 crore of the Rs 237 crore VLT demand from the previous year.
A special committee meeting was held to address pending VLT dues and increase revenue.
The committee plans to involve multiple departments to collect landowner addresses and issue notices.
