SC seeks response on plea for FMGE transparency
The Supreme Court of India has asked the central government, the National Medical Commission (NMC), and the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to respond to a plea.
This plea is from 12 candidates who took the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) in June 2024.
They want the court to make the exam process more transparent.
Specifically, they want the question papers, their answer sheets, and the official answer keys to be made public.
They also want a way to check and re-evaluate their scores.
The candidates say that without this, they can't be sure their scores are correct.
They also say the exam had some new types of questions that weren't mentioned before, which made it harder.
Over 5,000 candidates have raised concerns about the exam.
The Supreme Court is now looking into this matter.
