Former Mohammadbazar Land Officer Arrested in Revenue Fraud Probe

Police are investigating an alleged scheme involving land payment receipts and government revenue.

They arrested Sabyasachi Mondal, a former land officer in Mohammadbazar, after questioning him.

A court allowed police to hold him for five days while they investigate.

Investigators say the scheme may have involved fake receipts and several government employees.

They are also looking into possible links between Mondal and stone trader Tulu Mandal.

A search connected to the case reportedly found a large amount of cash and gold.

Tulu Mandal has not been found, and a court has declared him a proclaimed offender.

Police are also investigating alleged illegal stone and sand mining.
