India Approves ₹70,000 Crore Deal for Advanced Submarines
The Indian government is spending a lot of money to buy six new submarines.
This is part of a project called 'Project 75 India.'
They are partnering with a German company to build these submarines in India.
The goal is to use more Indian-made parts in the submarines, which is part of a plan to make things in India.
These new submarines will be able to stay underwater for a very long time without needing air.
This is happening because India wants to be able to protect itself against threats from other countries and because some of their old submarines will need to be replaced.
Indian government approves a Rs 70,000 crore deal for six advanced submarines.
The deal is part of 'Project 75 India' and will be in partnership with Germany's TKMS and MDL.
The project aims to increase indigenous components up to 60% in the first submarine.
The submarines will feature Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology.
