Humayun Kabir Challenges TMC Ahead of Polls
Humayun Kabir, a former MLA from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party, visited a big ground in Kolkata called Brigade Parade Ground.
He plans to hold a big rally there next month for his new party, the Janata Unnayan Party.
While he was there, some TMC supporters started shouting at him, saying he was a supporter of the BJP, another political party.
They promised to keep protesting whenever he comes.
Kabir said he would not respond to their allegations and would get all the necessary permissions for his rally.
He also said he wants to be a leader for the Muslim community in Bengal and plans to challenge the TMC in the next elections.
However, similar efforts in the past have not changed the way people vote, as voters often choose based on who can stop the BJP.
Humayun Kabir, a suspended TMC MLA, visited Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground to plan a rally for his new party, the Janata Unnayan Party.
TMC supporters protested against Kabir, accusing him of being a 'BJP agent' and shouting slogans like 'Go Back, BJP Agent'.
Kabir responded by saying he would not engage with the allegations and would proceed with his rally plans.
The TMC has distanced itself from Kabir after he announced plans to build a mosque and challenged the TMC's leadership.
Kabir aims to be the leader of the Muslim community in Bengal and plans to oust the TMC from power, but historical data shows such mobilizations rarely alter electoral outcomes.
