Retatrutide Shows Potential to Deliver Twice Ozempic’s Weight Loss

Retatrutide Shows Potential to Deliver Twice Ozempic’s Weight Loss

Retatrutide is a new medicine being studied to help people lose weight.

It is not approved yet.

Its maker, Lilly, says it may ask United States regulators to review it in 2027.

Early results suggest it could help people lose about twice as much weight as Ozempic.

However, the medicine caused stomach and digestive problems for some people.

These included diarrhea, nausea, constipation and vomiting.

Some side effects happened more often with higher doses.

Scientists are also checking whether the weight people lose is mostly fat or healthy lean tissue.
