Andhra Pradesh Kharif Paddy Procurement Set to Begin November 1

Andhra Pradesh plans to start buying Kharif paddy from farmers on November 1.

Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar announced the plan in Vijayawada.

The state expects to buy 37 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.

Around 24,000 people will help with the work.

There will be 2,619 places where farmers can bring their paddy.

About 31,000 vehicles will move the grain to mills.

The government plans to pay transportation costs for farmers this year.

The expected amount of paddy was lowered because of El Niño.

A workshop was held so different government departments could work together.
