Amazon to Shut Down Android Appstore in 2025
Amazon is closing its Appstore on Android phones, but not on Amazon's own tablets and TVs.
This Appstore, which was a competitor to the Google Play Store, will stop working on Android phones in August 2025.
Apps you already have might still work, but they won't get updates.
If you have Amazon Coins (digital money) in your account, you will get your money back.
This move lets Amazon focus on its own devices, where it is more successful, rather than spending time and money on supporting the Appstore on other phones.
If you used the Appstore, check your account before August 20 to get any refunds.

Amazon Coins digital currency will be discontinued, and unused balances will be refunded.
Amazon Music will remain available on Android, with no changes to current offerings.
