Telangana Launches Government School Breakfast Scheme Amid First-State Claim

Telangana Launches Government School Breakfast Scheme Amid First-State Claim

Telangana has started giving breakfast to children in government schools.

Kadiyam Srihari launched the programme at a school in Kashagudem village.

He served food and ate with the students.

The meals may include bonda, puri, upma, idli and vada on different days.

Leaders say the food can help children stay healthy and focus on learning.

The programme is meant to help poor and middle-class students who might come to school hungry.

Telangana has also started mid-day meals for Intermediate students.

Srihari asked parents to enroll their children in government schools.

The article also says Tamil Nadu started a free breakfast scheme in 2002, differing from Srihari’s claim that Telangana is first.
