Vedanta Invests $1 Billion in Net-Zero Push as Emissions Fall

Vedanta is a large company that makes metals and minerals.

It says it invested $1 billion to reduce pollution from its operations.

Its use of renewable electricity increased by 52% in FY2025-26.

This renewable electricity totaled 4 billion units, about as much as 3 crore Indian households use in a year.

Vedanta has nearly 2,000 MW of renewable power capacity installed or contracted.

It wants to reach 2.5 GW of renewable power that can operate around the clock by 2030.

The company also uses computers, machines and sensors to save energy in its factories.

Vedanta says its metals are important for clean-energy projects, while its own operations are becoming less carbon-intensive.
