In 1947, a big country called India was split into two countries.

This event is called the Partition of India, and it caused a lot of pain.

Many families lost their homes, and some people lost their lives.

West Bengal was one of the places that suffered the most.

The Governor of West Bengal, R. N. Ravi, wants everyone to remember this sad time.

He has asked all universities and colleges in the state to hold a special remembrance day on August 14.

On this day, students, teachers and parents will come together to remember what happened.

The governor wants young people to understand the suffering that people went through.

He also wants them to be careful about people who try to divide communities.

He also asked everyone to hoist the national flag for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign before Independence Day.
