Nehru’s Bandung Notes Fuel Congress Swipe at Modi After BRICS
BRICS countries issued a declaration that mentioned an important 1955 meeting in Bandung, Indonesia.
Jawaharlal Nehru attended that meeting when he was India’s prime minister.
The declaration said the meeting’s ideas could help build a fairer and more inclusive world system.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh shared some of Nehru’s handwritten notes from the event.
He also quoted a Hindi film song about someone’s shadow always following another person.
This was seen as a political joke aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi has often criticized Nehru in speeches and in Parliament.
Ramesh also shared a link showing where people could view Nehru’s notes.
