Hindu Saints Demand Qutub Minar Reclaim
Some Hindu leaders and a former official say that the Qutub Minar in India is not a minaret but an old Hindu observatory.
They want the government to give them the monument and build a temple there.
They believe the Mughals destroyed Hindu temples and built the Qutub Minar on top of them.
The leaders say there is evidence that the monument is tilted in a special way that shows it was used for studying the sun.
They are asking the government to respect their beliefs and let them take care of the monument.
Former ASI director Dharamveer Sharma claims Qutub Minar is a Vedhshala (observatory) not a minaret.
Hindu saints demand the monument be handed over to Sanatanis and a temple be constructed.
Devacharya ji Maharaj says the monument bears symbols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
Mahant Jagdishwar Das ji Maharaj claims Qutub Minar is actually Lord Vishnu’s pillar.
Sharma cites archaeological evidence, including the monument's tilt and lack of shadow on June 21.
