Building owner locks Tahsildar office over two years’ unpaid rent

A building owner rented his property to the government for a Tahsildar office.

He says the government has not paid him for almost two years.

The agreed rent was Rs13,800 each month.

He also says the rent was supposed to rise by five per cent every two years.

The owner said he repeatedly asked officials to solve the problem.

He said he received no satisfactory response.

So, he locked the office to draw attention to the unpaid rent.

The office is in a rented building because the newly created mandal does not have its own government building.
