GATE 2027: Public Sector Jobs, Research Roles, MTech Admissions Ahead
GATE is a big test in India for engineering students who want to continue learning.
It is organized by a famous college called IIT Madras.
Passing this test can help students get into top colleges for master's degrees.
It can also help them find jobs in big government companies.
Some of these companies are ONGC, BHEL, and IOCL.
The test can also lead to science and research jobs at places like ISRO and DRDO.
Students can start signing up for the 2027 test on August 14, 2026.
The test will happen in February 2027 on six different days.
A good score can open many doors for a student's future.
However, passing the test does not guarantee a job by itself.
GATE 2027 is a national-level computer-based entrance exam organized by IIT Madras for postgraduate engineering studies.
Registration for GATE 2027 begins on August 14, 2026, with the exam held on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027.
Public sector undertakings such as ONGC, BHEL, and IOCL recruit engineering candidates through GATE scores, offering competitive salaries and job stability.
Research organizations including BARC, DRDO, ISRO, BIS, NIC, and NTRO offer technical and scientific roles based on GATE scores.
A valid GATE score enables admission to MTech programmes at IISc Bengaluru, IITs like IIT Bombay and IIT Madras, and NITs such as NIT Tiruchirappalli and NIT Warangal.
