Nine Technical Snags Investigated in Air India Flight Altitude Drop
An airplane called Air India flight AI 2379 was flying from Phuket to Delhi when it suddenly dropped 300 feet.
That is about the height of a very tall building.
The sudden drop made passengers and crew members get thrown around inside the cabin.
Seventeen people got hurt, including thirteen passengers and four crew members.
The plane is an Airbus A320.
The plane's computer keeps a report of any problems it had during the flight.
That report showed nine technical problems.
Investigators are looking at these problems to understand what happened.
They are also checking the pilots, but finding something in a test does not mean the pilot did anything wrong.
Air India flight AI 2379 suffered a sudden 300-foot altitude drop while flying from Phuket to Delhi on August 4.
The incident threw passengers and crew around the cabin, injuring 17 people - 13 passengers and four crew members.
Nine technical snags were recorded in the aircraft's automated post-flight maintenance report, according to an IGI Airport source.
Investigators have not established that the recorded snags caused the altitude drop.
A DGCA source said a positive toxicology result does not automatically mean the pilot was impaired.
