HC Summons PWD CE Over BRTS Removal Delays
The High Court in Indore is upset because the work to remove old bus lanes (BRTS) is taking too long.
They called the people in charge, including the chief engineer of the Public Works Department, to explain why.
The court heard that some work has started, but other parts, like removing bus stops, have stopped.
The agency hired to do the job only removed a few bus stops and was told to leave.
The court also wants to know why a new road project is not moving forward.
The next meeting is in January 2026, and everyone must follow the court's earlier orders until then.
Madhya Pradesh High Court expressed dissatisfaction over delays in dismantling BRTS infrastructure in Indore.
The court summoned the chief engineer of PWD and the agency responsible for removal to explain the slow progress.
Only 2 or 3 out of 21 bus stops have been removed, and the agency was terminated.
Removal of the central divider is stalled due to a proposed elevated corridor project.
The next hearing is scheduled for January 19, 2026, with all previous orders to be complied with until then.
