A former senior government officer named Jeevan Kishore Dhruv asked a court to let him go free while waiting for his trial.

The judge said no.

The police agency called the CBI says he helped leak exam question papers while he worked for the commission that hires government workers in the state of Chhattisgarh.

The court said leaking exam papers is very unfair to thousands of young people who study very hard.

The judge even said this kind of cheating is worse than hurting someone, because it breaks many dreams at once instead of just one family's.

Dhruv was arrested in September 2025.

The alleged problems happened during recruitment between 2020 and 2022.

His son, who got a job as deputy collector through that same exam, is also accused.

The judge heard the request on July 31 and gave the decision on Wednesday, refusing to let the former officer out on bail.
