Punjab Expands Anti-Rabies Vaccination to All Clinics
Punjab has made it easier for people to get vaccinated against rabies.
Before, only 48 health centers offered this service, making it hard for people, especially children and workers, to get the full treatment.
Now, all 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics in Punjab provide this vaccination.
This means people can get treated quickly and close to home.
Since the change, more people are completing the full vaccination schedule, which helps prevent rabies.
The government says this is a big step in making healthcare more accessible and affordable for everyone in Punjab.
Punjab has expanded Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) services to all 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state.
Previously, ARV services were limited to 48 Primary Health Centres, causing accessibility issues for dog bite victims.
The expansion aims to provide timely, affordable, and community-level care for approximately three lakh annual dog bite cases.
Aam Aadmi Clinics have recorded over 4.6 crore OPD visits and treat nearly 70,000 patients daily.
Since the expansion, an average of 1,500 dog bite patients have been reporting to Aam Aadmi Clinics every month, with many completing the full vaccination schedule.
