Tesla to Raise FSD Subscription Prices

Tesla to Raise FSD Subscription Prices

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced that the company will increase the subscription price for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software as it improves.

Currently, the FSD subscription costs $99 per month.

Tesla is also removing the Autopilot feature from new car orders, replacing it with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control as the standard.

This change means that customers will have to rely on FSD for advanced driver assistance.

Musk believes that making FSD better will encourage more people to subscribe.

He also mentioned that the one-time fee for FSD will be removed after February 14, 2026, leaving only the monthly subscription option.

Currently, only about 12% of Tesla owners are paying for FSD.

Musk's pay package includes a goal to reach 10 million active FSD subscriptions, which is why increasing subscriptions is important for Tesla.

Musk also hinted that future upgrades to FSD could allow users to use their phones or even sleep during rides, which he expects will greatly increase demand for Tesla's vehicles.
