Divya Deshmukh's Path to Grandmaster Title at FIDE World Cup
Divya Deshmukh, a chess player from India, made history by reaching the final of the FIDE Women's World Cup 2025.
This means she could become a Grandmaster, which is a high honor in chess.
Usually, you need to win in special tournaments and have a high score to become a Grandmaster, but winning this World Cup gives the title automatically.
If she doesn't win the final, she'll still need to achieve two more norms and score a rating of 2500 to earn the GM title.
