Maruti Suzuki Stock Surges, Small Car Segment Drives Growth
Maruti Suzuki, India's biggest car company, is having a great year.
Their stock price has gone up a lot, and they've sold many more small cars this year.
This is because of lower taxes (GST) and more people buying cars in India.
They made more money this quarter than last year, and they think the small car market will keep growing.
They plan to launch new SUVs to reach their goal of having 50% of the car market share.
Maruti Suzuki India's stock has risen 46.21% in 2025, on track for its best yearly performance since 2017.
The company's market capitalization has surpassed ₹5 lakh crore, joining an elite group of 12 companies.
Strong demand for small cars, driven by GST rate cuts and improved domestic consumption, has boosted sales.
During the festive period, Maruti Suzuki sold 400,000 units, with small cars contributing about 250,000 units, marking 100% YoY growth.
For Q2, Maruti Suzuki reported an in-line performance with net profit at ₹3,349 crore and revenue from operations up 13% YoY.
