Search Intensifies for Seven Missing Andhra Pradesh Fishermen

Search Intensifies for Seven Missing Andhra Pradesh Fishermen

A group of fishermen from Andhra Pradesh is missing at sea.

They went fishing earlier this month in the Bay of Bengal.

Officials say their boat was involved in an accident about 12 nautical miles from the coast.

A large search is being carried out by Coast Guard and Navy vessels, aircraft, and a helicopter.

The Coast Guard says the boat has not been found yet.

Officials have also asked authorities in Myanmar, Port Blair, and areas near Bangladesh to watch for the boat.

Reports describe the situation differently: some say seven fishermen are missing, while another official account names Appanna as missing from a group of eight.

The government says the search will continue until the fishermen are found and brought home safely.
