Germany Changed NRI's Life From Temporary Chapter to Startup
A man from India moved to Germany in 2021 to study for a master's degree.
He thought he would stay only until his studies finished.
His plan was to go back to India to help run his family's business.
But his time in Germany changed his plans.
He finished his studies in 2024 and found a job.
He works with artificial intelligence for a big company that makes turbines.
He earned the right to live in Germany permanently.
He is starting his own company and growing his family's business there.
He also became more outgoing and made new friends.
He is getting married soon and says Germany gave him much more than he expected.
An NRI Reddit user shared on 9 August how moving to Germany in 2021 for a Master's degree transformed his life.
He originally planned to return to India after his studies to run the family business.
He completed his Master's in 2024, landed a job in AI for a large energy sector turbine manufacturer, and secured a permanent residence permit this year.
He said he is expanding his family business in Germany, building his own startup, and getting married in the coming week.
Social media reactions were mixed, with one commenter noting privileges of having a family business at scale and another reporting an opposite personal experience.
