Uttarakhand Reports 39,815 Rural Families Housed Since 2022

Uttarakhand says 39,815 rural families have received houses through a government housing program since 2022.

The program is for families who do not have a home or live in unsafe, temporary houses.

Eligible families receive ₹1.30 lakh to help build a permanent home.

The money is sent directly to their bank accounts.

They may also receive help paying for kitchen items and a toilet.

The program includes 95 days of paid work for building their own house.

The state says homes can also have drinking water, cooking gas and electricity.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami says he has asked the central government to approve more houses.
