Justice Bhuyan Says Voting Rights Cannot Be Altered

Justice Ujjal Bhuyan said voting is a very important right for Indian citizens.

He said the Constitution protects this right for adults.

He warned that removing many people from voter rolls could be unfair and unconstitutional.

The Constitution allows voting rights to be restricted only on certain grounds.

Bhuyan said voting lets ordinary people take part in governing the country.

He spoke at a university event in Hyderabad on Sunday.

His comments came amid concerns about alleged voter deletions after an Election Commission exercise.

He also praised the students and teachers at NALSAR.
