Chandrasekaran’s Remuneration Outpaced Tata Group Profit Growth Rates

N Chandrasekaran is paid to lead Tata Sons.

His yearly pay includes a base salary and commission.

It rose from Rs 55.1 crore in FY18 to Rs 158.7 crore in FY26.

That was an average yearly increase of 14.1 per cent.

During the same period, Tata Sons’ adjusted profit went down overall.

The profits of Tata Group’s listed companies did increase, but more slowly than his pay.

The market value of the companies also grew more slowly than his remuneration.

The comparison shows that his pay increased faster than the group’s measured profits and market value.
