Gyanendra Kumar is an IAS officer who could not be reached by his family for two days.

His work phone was turned off.

The last place his phone was traced was Kempegowda International Airport near Bengaluru.

People became worried and began speculating about what had happened.

Minister Priyank Kharge said Kumar later contacted government officials.

Kumar explained that he had gone to his hometown because of a family emergency.

He also said he had asked for leave.

Some reports connected his absence to an Enforcement Directorate raid, but that connection was not confirmed in the article.
