Minister Says Jagan’s 175-Seat Goal Has Fallen to 18

A government minister in Tirupati criticized the opposition YSR Congress Party.

He said its former leader, Jagan Mohan Reddy, may now be trying to win 18 seats instead of all 175 Assembly seats.

The minister accused opposition leaders of attacking officials and creating problems for government projects.

He also alleged that some people had taken land illegally.

A vigilance report about possible land grabbing in areas near Tirupati was sent to a senior land official.

The minister said the government would work on land disputes, including the Damineedu lands issue.

He also said a large cricket stadium would be built in Settipalli.

The stadium is planned to hold 50,000 people and could host international and IPL matches within three years.
