Bangalore Metro Launches QR Code Passes
The Bangalore Metro has started a new way for people to travel using their phones.
They can now buy passes that let them ride the metro as many times as they want for one, three, or five days.
These passes are called QR passes and are available on the Namma Metro app.
Before, people had to use special cards that cost Rs 50 to get back, but now they can just use their phones.
The metro is doing this to make traveling easier and to use more digital tickets.
BMRCL launched mobile QR-based periodical passes for unlimited travel on the Namma Metro app.
Passes are available for one, three, and five days.
No security deposit is required for QR passes, unlike the previous contactless smart cards.
The new passes aim to enhance commuter convenience and promote digital ticketing.
The facility will be available on other mobile applications shortly.
