CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya Discusses Bihar Election Dynamics
The leader of a political group called CPI-ML, Dipankar Bhattacharya, talked about the big election happening in Bihar.
He thinks his group is very important for the opposition alliance, the Mahagathbandhan, because they have many dedicated supporters.
He believes the other main group, the BJP, is trying to trick people with promises of money and by saying bad things about the past.
Bhattacharya said the BJP is also being unfair by not giving chances to many different kinds of people in their candidate choices, especially Muslims.
He mentioned that some names were unfairly removed from the voter lists, hurting women and minorities.
He also thinks a new group run by a person named Prashant Kishor isn't a real political movement but more like a business.
Bhattacharya feels his party is a trustworthy partner that will help make sure promises made to voters are kept.
CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya stated his party is a valuable asset to the Mahagathbandhan, recalling its strong performance in the 2020 elections.
He criticized the BJP's strategy, calling the election's core issue the BJP itself and accusing them of feudal and communal politics, citing their candidate selection.
Bhattacharya dismissed government schemes like the SIR and cash handouts as tactics to distract from public discontent and alleged targeted voter roll deletions.
He characterized Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party as a corporate venture and downplayed the 'Jungle Raj' narrative as BJP propaganda.
The CPI-ML leader emphasized his party's commitment to ensuring the Mahagathbandhan implements its manifesto promises, focusing on employment and rights for the landless.

CPI-ML Perspective
BJP's Narrative
Central Issue of the Election
CPI-ML Perspective
The BJP, not Nitish Kumar, is the real issue, with the BJP setting the agenda and blocking reforms. The BJP's politics is communal and feudal, with a lack of Muslim candidates and a focus on upper castes.
BJP's Narrative
The BJP aims to regain complete power in Bihar. Nitish Kumar's government is being portrayed as inefficient, with the 'Jungle Raj' of the Lalu-Rabri years being invoked.
Impact of Government Schemes
CPI-ML Perspective
Government initiatives like the SIR and cash transfers are attempts to confuse people and mask public discontent, not genuine solutions.
BJP's Narrative
The government is using large-scale cash transfers to women and other initiatives to influence voters and secure its position.
Voter Roll Deletions
CPI-ML Perspective
The deletion of names from voter rolls, disproportionately affecting women, Muslims, and migrant workers, is a tactic to disenfranchise certain sections, and the anger will be reflected in voting.
BJP's Narrative
While not explicitly stated, the BJP's focus on consolidating power implies a strategy where electoral roll management might be a factor, though not openly discussed as a positive by them.
Role of Caste-Based Parties
CPI-ML Perspective
Caste-based parties, like Mukesh Sahani's, arise from assertion and can be valuable allies if they stand against the BJP. The CPI-ML's base also lies among Dalits and EBCs.
BJP's Narrative
The BJP's candidate selection, heavily favoring upper castes, highlights its feudal mindset and has led to disenchantment among OBCs, EBCs, and Dalits.
Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party
CPI-ML Perspective
Prashant Kishor's project is a corporate venture masquerading as a political movement, and his brand value is fading.
BJP's Narrative
While not directly commenting on Kishor, the BJP's aim to consolidate power suggests a focus on its own alliances and narratives, viewing other entities as less significant.
