Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 Gets Mixed Reactions From Fans, Critics
Today, a movie called Awarapan 2 came out in theatres.
It is a sequel to a very popular old movie called Awarapan, which came out in 2007.
A famous actor named Emraan Hashmi plays the main character, Shivam Pandit, again.
Some people who watched the movie loved it.
They said it was exciting and full of action, and they really liked the background music and songs.
Other people were not happy with the movie.
They said the story was too predictable and the songs were not as good as the old movie's songs.
They also said the movie relied too much on people remembering the old movie.
A movie reviewer gave it two and a half stars out of five.
The reviewer said fans of Emraan Hashmi will enjoy it, but other people might be disappointed.
So people have very different opinions about Awarapan 2.
Awarapan 2, starring Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit, hit theatres on August 14, clashing with Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947.
The sequel to Mohit Suri's 2007 cult classic is directed by Nitin Kakkar and backed by Vishesh Films, with Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi and Suvinder Vicky in the cast.
Some fans on X called the film 'SUPER FUN' and 'pure nostalgia,' praising the action, emotions, background score and Emraan Hashmi's return.
Others called it a 'HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT' and a 'forced sequel,' criticising predictable storytelling, generic writing and music that misses the original's 'soul and magic.'
The Free Press Journal gave the film 2.5 stars out of 5, writing that Emraan Hashmi fans are in for a treat but other viewers may be disappointed.

Positive Fans
Critical Viewers
Sequel Quality
Positive Fans
A proper continuation of a cult classic will always hit harder than a random movie using a franchise name for clout; 'this is how sequels should be made.'
Critical Viewers
A forced sequel and a clear cashgrab attempt that relies too much on nostalgia instead of offering something fresh.
Music and Score
Positive Fans
The background music is fantastic and the songs are tuneful, enhancing the film.
Critical Viewers
The music is the biggest letdown and completely misses the soul and magic of the original.
Storytelling Depth
Positive Fans
The first half is packed with intensity, emotion, action and a gripping atmosphere that builds tension perfectly towards the interval.
Critical Viewers
There is no depth in the storytelling; the writing is almost predictable and generic, and Mohit Suri's absence is visible in every frame.
