HRera Orders Builder to Pay Interest for Delayed Gurgaon Flat
Imagine you bought an apartment in Gurgaon, but the builder took too long to finish it.
The government's housing authority, HRera, stepped in.
They said the builder has to pay you extra money, called interest, because the apartment was late.
The interest is calculated at 11.10% per year, starting from May 30, 2022, until you get the apartment or two months after the building gets its final certificate, whichever comes first.
The builder also needs to give you an updated bill and provide the apartment within three months after getting the final certificate.
HRera ordered a builder in Gurgaon to pay interest for a delayed flat.
The buyer initially booked the unit in 2016 and paid Rs 13.65 lakh.
The builder failed to deliver the flat within the agreed-upon timeframe.
HRera directed the builder to pay 11.10% interest annually from May 30, 2022.
