RSS Responds to Congress Leader Kharge's Call for Ban
A political leader named Mallikarjun Kharge from the Congress party suggested that a group called the RSS should be banned in India.
He thinks the RSS is responsible for problems in the country and that an important historical leader, Sardar Patel, also banned them before.
Kharge's son, Priyank Kharge, also wants to stop the RSS from doing activities in schools and government places because he believes they teach wrong ideas.
However, a leader from the RSS, Dattatreya Hosabale, responded that their group is accepted by the people and helps the country with its safety and culture.
He also mentioned that when the RSS was banned in the past, the government later found it to be unlawful.
Another Congress member, Rashid Alvi, clarified that perhaps a ban isn't the main goal, but he feels the RSS has broken promises made long ago, like not getting involved in politics or changing the country's secular nature.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called for a ban on the RSS, blaming them for law and order issues.
