Indian IT leaders prioritize agentic AI for growth
Indian IT leaders are focusing a lot on something called agentic AI, which is a type of AI that can act, reason, and adapt on its own.
This is different from what leaders in the West are doing, who are more focused on making things more efficient.
A survey by a company called Thoughtworks talked to a lot of important decision-makers in India and other countries.
They found that almost half of the Indian leaders think agentic AI is the most important thing for their businesses.
Most of them also believe that AI helps people do their jobs better and faster, and it's creating new jobs instead of taking them away.
Indian leaders are also very hopeful that AI will help their companies make more money in the next few years.
However, some experts caution that AI should be managed responsibly and combined with human expertise to avoid potential issues and maximize benefits.
Indian IT leaders prioritize agentic AI for business growth, with 48% identifying it as their primary AI focus.
93% of Indian leaders agree that AI enhances people's skills and speed, and 86% believe AI augments rather than replaces talent.
57% report a net increase in roles due to human-AI collaboration, and 35% have created new roles or career paths because of AI.
Indian leaders expect significant revenue impact from AI, with 49% anticipating more than 15% revenue uplift in five years.
The survey was conducted by Thoughtworks, covering 3,500 C-suite and senior IT decision-makers across seven countries, including 500 in India.
