ADSR of Durgapur lodged a complaint against 99 Builders Private Limited for forging land documents and duping people.
The company promised to build townships in areas like Bamunara, Fulljhore, Gopalmath, and Panagarh and collected money from buyers.
Buyers discovered the land deeds were fraudulent and lodged complaints with the land department and registrar.
Similar allegations have surfaced in Newtown, Kolkata, with the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate launching its own investigation.
The principal owner, Ram Pratap Singh, is believed to have fled abroad, and another owner, Ram Pal Inder Singh, is also absconding.
