Warfare Evolving to Non-Contact, Non-Kinetic: Army Chief Gen Dwivedi
The head of the Indian Army, General Upendra Dwivedi, explained that fighting wars today isn't just about physical battles anymore.
It's more about using technology and information, like through computers and the internet, to win without direct contact.
He said this means we need to be smart, use new technology, and be morally strong to protect our country.
He also talked about how everyone in the country, especially young people, needs to work together for national security.
He mentioned that India has a lot of young people who are good with technology and can help in many ways, not just as soldiers.
The army is also reaching out to young people through programs and internships to involve them in national defense.
The general stressed that protecting the country involves everyone, not just those in uniform.
Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi stated that warfare is evolving to become increasingly non-kinetic and non-contact.
This shift requires a response encompassing intellectual, technological, and moral preparedness, not just physical strength.
Gen Dwivedi highlighted challenges including traditional rivalries, terrorism, proxy war, and disinformation campaigns.
He emphasized that national security and nation-building are inseparable, requiring a whole-of-nation approach involving governance, industry, academia, and civil society.
The Army is actively engaging with the youth, recognizing them as a significant strength and instrument of power in this new era of warfare, with initiatives like technology clusters and paid internships.
