Charli XCX Admits Lying About New Album, Music Fashion Film
Charli XCX is a famous singer who recently had a very popular album called Brat.
A radio host once asked her if she was making new music, and she said no.
Now she has admitted that was not true, saying it was a lie.
She actually had most of her next album, Music, Fashion, Film, already finished at the time.
Charli wanted to keep the project a secret until the right moment.
She says the new album sounds very different from Brat, almost like the opposite.
She will start sharing the new music when she performs at the Reading and Leeds Festival.
She also says that since Brat became so popular, it is hard for her to fully relax, except when she watches Love Island.
Even with all the pressure, she says she would not change her life.
Charli XCX admitted to BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders that she previously lied about not making new music.
The singer revealed her next album, Music, Fashion, Film, was already largely finished when she denied working on it.
She said accepting an invitation to perform at Reading and Leeds Festival would mark the beginning of the album's rollout.
Charli described Music, Fashion, Film as a deliberately different sound to Brat, calling the two releases "polar opposites."
She reflected that Brat has made it hard to switch off from work and that she would not change her life despite the pressures.
