TTD Told to Redeploy Non-Hindu Staff Internally
The government has told the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which runs a famous temple, to find jobs for its non-Hindu workers within its own hospitals, schools, and other places.
The TTD cannot move these workers to other government jobs.
The TTD is now making a list of jobs where these workers can be moved.
There are 29 non-Hindu workers out of about 21,000 total workers.
The TTD is also looking at whether it can offer early retirement to some of these workers.
This is because the rules say only Hindus can work for the TTD.
The TTD tried to offer early retirement before, but no one took it.
Now, the TTD has to find a way to follow the rules and keep these workers employed.
The NDA government directed TTD to redeploy non-Hindu staff within its own institutions.
TTD is identifying vacancies in its hospitals, schools, and welfare centers for redeployment.
There are 29 non-Hindu employees currently working for TTD out of 21,000 total employees.
The TTD is examining the possibility of offering voluntary retirement to some non-Hindu staff.
The directive comes after the TTD board, led by B.R. Naidu, revived discussions on the employment of non-Hindus.
