Norway Parliament Probes Epstein Links to Elite Officials

Norway’s parliament is investigating connections between Jeffrey Epstein and some Norwegian officials.

Epstein was a wealthy American sex offender whose contacts with powerful people were examined in released documents.

Several current and former ministers have been asked to answer questions.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said he never had a relationship with Epstein.

He also said Epstein did not influence Norway’s government decisions.

Former minister Børge Brende said he met Epstein three times and apologized for not being honest at first about those meetings.

Some other prominent Norwegians are being investigated by police over corruption accusations, although they deny wrongdoing.

Parliament has also created an expert commission to study the wider issues and recommend ways to improve trust and transparency.
