Environmental Clearance Granted for Purnea Airport Terminal Building
Imagine a new airport terminal is being built in Bihar!
The government said it's okay to start building it.
This airport will be bigger than the temporary one they're using now.
The plan is to handle many passengers and a lot of cargo.
They will build a terminal and other airport features on land provided by the state.
The airport used to be a military base, but now will be for public use.
The project will require a water source, so the AAI has been asked to build a dam to get water from the Kosi Dhar River.
Also, they have to count the trees they might need to remove.
The Union Environment Ministry has approved the environmental clearance for a terminal building at Purnea airport.
The AAI is developing the airport with projected passenger traffic of 2.1 million annually.
The new terminal and related infrastructure will be constructed on 21 hectares of land provided by the Bihar government.
The airport is located at the Chunapur Indian Air Force station.
The AAI has to conduct a tree survey due to potential impact on the environment.
