Marakkar: Lion of Arabian Sea Flops Despite 3 National Awards
Mohanlal and Priyadarshan made a big, expensive movie called Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea.
It won three National Awards before it even came out, which made people very excited.
The movie had a huge budget of Rs 100 crore, making it the most expensive Malayalam film at that time.
However, when it was released, it didn't do well at the box office.
It only made Rs 45.4 crore worldwide, which is less than half of what it cost to make.
Even though it won awards, many people didn't like the movie, and it became a big disappointment.
Despite this, Mohanlal and Priyadarshan are planning to work together again on Priyadarshan's 100th directorial venture.
Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea is an epic historical action film starring Mohanlal, directed by Priyadarshan, and produced by Antony Perumbavoor.
The film won three National Awards, including Best Feature Film, Best Costume Design, and Best Special Effects, before its release.
Despite high expectations and a massive budget of Rs 100 crore, the film grossed only Rs 45.4 crore worldwide, making it a box office flop.
The film received average to negative reviews and failed to maintain momentum after its initial release.
Mohanlal and Priyadarshan are planning to collaborate again for Priyadarshan's 100th directorial venture.
