Two POCSO Undertrials Escape From Srinagar Central Jail

Two people awaiting trial allegedly escaped from a jail in Srinagar.

Officials reported the incident on Sunday.

The prisoners were named Farman Khan and Mukhtar Ahmad Gujjar.

Khan is from Rajasthan.

Gujjar is from Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Both men face cases under a law protecting children from sexual offences.

Khan’s case was registered at Lar police station in Ganderbal district.

Gujjar’s case was registered at Soura police station in Srinagar.

The report does not say how they escaped or what happened afterward.
