Modi Highlights India’s 7.8% Growth and Economic Progress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about India’s economy at Shri Ram College of Commerce.

He said India grew by 7.8% in one quarter.

He described this as a sign that the economy is strong.

He said the growth happened while there was war in West Asia and trade difficulties.

Modi also said a Japanese credit rating agency had improved India’s rating.

He pointed to nearly 60 crore bank accounts opened through the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.

He said this helped more people join the formal banking system.

He also highlighted India’s growing mobile phone exports and manufacturing.

Modi said India is working toward becoming a major manufacturing, research, innovation, and agricultural-export hub.
