UK Heat Alerts Issued Amid 34°C Forecast
The UK Health Security Agency warned that it could get very hot in England, with temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius.
They put out amber alerts for London and nearby areas, and yellow alerts for the north and west of England.
The hottest day is expected on Monday.
In Scotland and Northern Ireland, it will be cooler and there may be heavy rain that could cause small floods.
From midweek, the weather should cool down a bit, but southern England will stay warm and mostly dry.
The alerts help doctors and hospitals prepare for more patients who might get sick from the heat.
People should stay hydrated and avoid going outside during the hottest parts of the day.
The warnings are in place until the morning of August 5th.
After that, the weather should improve as cooler air moves in.
This helps keep everyone safe during the heatwave.
UK Health Security Agency issued amber heat alerts for London, South East, East of England, and East Midlands until 0900 BST on Wednesday 5 August.
Yellow heat alerts cover North West, Yorkshire and the Humber, West Midlands, and South West for the same period.
Temperatures are expected to reach up to 34°C in parts of London and the Home Counties, with Monday predicted as the hottest day.
Scotland, Northern Ireland, and western Britain will see cloud, rain, and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in Scotland raising localized flooding risk.
From midweek, cooler Atlantic air is expected to bring cooler temperatures and more rain to Scotland and Northern Ireland, while southern England remains warm and mostly dry.
