APSPDCL Launches UPI Payment for Electricity Bills
APSPDCL, a power company in Andhra Pradesh, has added a new way for people to pay their electricity bills.
Now, instead of using the company’s website or app, customers can use popular UPI apps like PhonePe or Google Pay.
The company’s boss said this will make paying bills faster and safer.
They also plan to close physical bill‑collection centers as more people use online payments.
The new UPI option works in nine districts of the state, and customers are told to use only trusted apps to stay safe.
APSPDCL now accepts UPI payments for electricity bills via PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, and Amazon Pay.
Previously, customers could pay through the company’s website, mobile app, Dynamic QR Code, or Mana Mitra WhatsApp.
CMD Shivashankar Lotheti said the UPI option will be faster, secure, and transparent, boosting digital payment use.
Bill‑collection centres will close gradually as online payments rise, with a warning to avoid fake links and apps.
The UPI service covers nine districts in Andhra Pradesh, including Nellore, Tirupati, and Chittoor.
