RPF Registers 2,581 Mumbai Cases During August Crackdown

The Railway Protection Force, or RPF, checked railway stations and trains in Mumbai during August.

It registered 2,581 cases for breaking railway rules.

Many people were caught entering tracks, selling goods without permission or using coaches reserved for people with disabilities.

Some men were also caught entering women’s coaches without permission.

The RPF said these actions were meant to make travel safer and more comfortable.

It also acted against alcohol transportation, smoking, illegal posters and dangerous footboard travel.

The force reported collecting about Rs 32.26 lakh in fines.

However, the individual fines listed in the report add up to Rs 32.38 lakh, which is Rs 12,000 more than the reported total.
