Nagaland Tribes to Skip Independence Day Over Reservation Concerns
Five tribes in Nagaland are not going to celebrate Independence Day this year.
They are upset about how the state government is making decisions about who gets special benefits.
They don't like the people the government chose to look at the rules, and they want the government to change them.
They will not attend any government events until the government listens to them.
They are also asking people to not participate in the celebrations.
Five Nagaland tribes will abstain from Independence Day festivities.
The Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) issued the statement.
The tribes object to the composition of the Reservation Review Commission.
