Former Udupi Leaders Dismiss MLA's Claims on Traffic Signal Project
Imagine the city's traffic lights were installed in a way that caused problems, like making traffic jams worse or even causing accidents.
Some city leaders said the old lights were put up poorly.
They decided to take them down and put up new ones after getting advice from the police and hearing from people who use the roads.
They also say they followed all the rules and spent money wisely, which is different from what a former politician, Raghupathi Bhat, claimed.
These city leaders think the former politician's claims are just trying to cause trouble for political reasons.
Former Udupi CMC president Prabhakar Poojary and vice-president Rajani Hebbar refuted allegations by former MLA Raghupathi Bhat regarding the traffic signal project.
They stated the previous traffic signals were installed unscientifically, causing safety issues and traffic disruptions.
The decision to replace the old signals was unanimous, based on police directions and public feedback.
Poojary and Hebbar asserted that the new installations followed a transparent tender process and that no public funds were misused.
They suggested Bhat's claims were politically motivated and misled the public, questioning his motives after a two-year silence.
