BRO Restores J&K Road Axis After Cloudburst Damage
Imagine a road that got washed away by a big storm, like a river overflowing!
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), a group that builds roads, had to fix it.
The storm caused a lot of damage, taking out a bridge and blocking the road with dirt and rocks.
The BRO team worked really hard, using big machines to clear the mess, build new parts, and make sure the road wouldn't be washed away again.
After lots of work, the road was fixed, so people could travel again between important places.
The Mahanpur-Theyn axis in Kathua district was disrupted by a cloudburst and landslide.
The existing and under-construction bridges were washed away on August 17, 2025.
69 Road Construction Company (RCC) of Project Sampark led the restoration.
The BRO team worked to clear debris, channel water, and stabilize the area.
The road section was restored for heavy vehicles by September 13, 2025.
